Tampa Bay Magazine Artwork Specifications

SETTING UP:

  1. Follow Tampa Bay Magazine's "Camera Ready" Specifications sheet for exact electronic file requirements. We will also accept HI-RES PDF files. Please see Setting Up For PDF Files.
  2. Create a folder on your desktop with the name of the file you want to send.
  3. "Collect for output" in QuarkXPress® and designate the folder you have created as the collection point. You can then "Stuff" or "Zip" the entire folder prior to putting on a disk or e-mailing. This will ensure that there are no missing images and that all "links" are in place.
  4. Collect all fonts (including font suitcase, screen fonts and printer fonts) must be placed in a folder called "FONTS". DO NOT mix printer fonts in font suitcases, as major conflicts can occur! Only Post Script Fonts and Open Type Fonts can be accepted. We can NOT USE ANY TRUE TYPE FONTS. Also the use of any font collection software must not be used, as that will also cause major conflicts! ELECTRONICALLY MODIFIED FONTS (bold, italic, shadow, contour, etc.) will not work in our system.

SENDING DIGITAL FILES:

  1. If sending files via DSL or Hi-Speed Cable check with your ISP to find out what your maximum allowable (send / receive) file size is (usually 5 MB).
  2. If sending files via e-mail with attachments, check with your ISP to find out what your maximum allowable (send / receive) file size is (usually 5 MB). NOTE: We can accept up to 20MB files via e-mail, and prefer that they be "Zipped". If you cannot send out a large file, please send these files on a Zip disk, CD, DVD, or Flash Drive.

TO STUFF OR ZIP FILES:

  1. If you are using Stuffit™, double click on the Stuffit™ icon to open the program. Go to "File", pulldown to "Preferences" and make sure that settings are checked off as follows:

    • Encode archive into BinHex format
    • Delete archive after BinHexing
    • Include line feeds in BinHexed file

    Then click O.K.

On the desktop "Drag & Drop" the folder you want to stuff and send on "Top" of the Stuffit™ icon to stuff the folder.
  2. If you do not have Stuffit™, you may also "ZIP" the folder you want to send.
  3. After opening your e-mail program, address your e-mail to us and designate this "Folder" as an "attachment", and send it to us as "High Priority". MAKE SURE YOUR E-MAIL PROGRAM DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY COMPRESS THE FILE AGAIN! IF IT WILL - DISABLE THIS FUNCTION!

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  1. If files are larger than your maximum allowable (send / receive) file size that your ISP will allow (usually 5 MB), please send these files on a Zip disk, CD, DVD, or Flash Drive.
  2. Send only files needed for a particular ad. DO NOT send Multiple ads or files not needed.
  3. Send only one (1) ad on each e-mail, Zip disk, CD, DVD, or Flash Drive.
  4. Don't send your only copy of a file. Always keep a backup of the original!
  5. Our e-mail address for sending artwork is: production@tampabaymagazine.com
We can accept up to 20MB files via e-mail, and prefer that they be "Zipped".
